Education Background
Don received his M.D. degree from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM), China in 1994. He completed his 5-year residency in TCM at the SHUTCM-affiliated Shanghai Yueyang Hospital, one of the top three TCM hospitals in Shanghai. He then worked as an attending physician at the same hospital before he relocated to the United States.
Don has also been a clinical instructor & assistant professor at the SHUTCM since 1998. He earned his M.S. degree in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia in 2006. He founded Main Line Acupuncture in 2009.

Don’s experience includes working extensively in the area of pain management and infertility/GYN/women’s health. He believes that TCM offers natural, non-invasive, and effective methods for healing the body.
Licensed in PA, DE & NJ, Dr. Liu is one of the very few (＜2%) practitioners in PA who hold diplomas in ALL (Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, Oriental Medicine & Asian Bodywork Therapy) through NCCAOM.
He serves as a member of the acupuncture council for the Delaware State Board of Medicine (2016-current). He is also a member of the Academy of TCM, the only official TCM professional academy in China.
