“Over two years ago I started having pain and weakness in my right ankle. I went to a famous sports medicine clinic and the doctor told me I had tendonitis. He treated it for several months. He sent me to a physical therapist, which cost $145 a treatment and lasted several weeks – no improvement. He then recommended a different physical therapist for about the same price and the same results. He sent me to a podiatrist who made orthotics for me for $600 – and still, I saw no improvement.
Next, I tried an orthopedic surgeon and he was unable to help me, but he recommended a new podiatrist. She gave me a brace for my ankle for another $85, which was somewhat helpful, but very unattractive and whenever I took it off my ankle felt weak and began to hurt again.
Finally, I decided to try acupuncture. After only 3 visits with Dr. Liu, I noted a marked improvement. Now after only seven visits, I feel comfortable walking up and down stairs without holding on to the railing. My ankle feels stronger and there is almost no discomfort. I’m thrilled. “I had personal experience with two cases treated by Dr. Liu. The first case involved a patient with lower back pain. Apparently, the patient was suffering from month-long back pain limiting his ability to move and breathe. He tried several medications and physical therapy modalities in order to relieve the discomfort but to no avail. After three acupuncture sessions with Dr. Liu symptoms receded significantly. Second case involved very stressed professional presenting with several symptoms of fatigue, feeling of exhaustion and hot, poor sleep, and lack of energy. In that case, gradual progress was made over three weeks. There was an appreciative change in the patient’s ability to perform physical exercise, perception of well-being, and quality of life. Both medical problems are not readily addressed by western medicine since clear etiology of symptoms cannot be found. Thus, such cases represent difficult problems for Western Medicine.
